Alex Lucio, Sr.

Alex Lucio (Elias Chavez Lucio) passed away August 31, 2021 at the age of 62. Alex was born February 14, 1959 in Loma Linda, California to Abel Montes De Oca Lucio and Artemisa Lucio. He grew up in Rancho Cucamonga and later moved to Visalia in 1976. There he met his first love Amanda, when she paid another kid twenty-five cents to pass Alex her phone number. They were married for 19 years and shared three children together. In 1996 he lost Amanda after a long battle with cancer. In 1998 Alex was blessed with finding love once again with Jennifer Evans. In 2007 they were married in an intimate ceremony. They shared a love of travel and adventure, quiet evenings at home, and spending time with their doggies. Alex had a passion for cars which began as a young boy. He began by taking bikes apart and painting them. This led him to begin working on cars in his teen years and eventually led to a career in the collision industry. In 1999 he founded Alex's Paint and Body. Alex was an amazing business man and built Alex's Paint and Body to be a well-known and respected business in the central valley. He had a charismatic personality and never met a stranger. Once you met him, he was your friend. He greeted everyone with a joke and a smile. Alex also had a passion for vintage cars, especially American Muscle cars. He loved to restore them and acquired quite a collection, which he was so proud of. He also enjoyed attending car shows and auto swap meets in his spare time. Alex also loved working in his yard. He had quite the green thumb! He could take the smallest of seeds or the deadest looking plants, and grow them into the most beautiful thriving plants and flowers. Alex was also blessed to play the piano. He was self-taught and played by ear. His favorite artist was Jerry Lee Lewis and Alex learned to master his songs on the piano. He couldn't pass a piano without tickling the ivories, no matter where he was. One of his greatest moments in life was when he got to play the piano of Jerry Lee Lewis. He really did live life every day to the fullest! However, his biggest love was for GOD and his family. Alex was a devoted family man and was strong in his faith of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed going to Church and speaking his faith of GOD to others. Alex also loved being with his large family. From large holiday gatherings to just simple weekend cook outs, being with his family was his happy place. When Alex became a Papa, he was over the moon. His grandchildren were his to spoil and love. Boat rides, fishing in the backyard or playing Barbie's, Papa was up for anything. He also enjoyed traveling with them to Disney World, Disneyland, Las Vegas, and countless trips to the beach. He forged a tight bond with his grandkids and created wonderful memories that they will always cherish. They were definitely Papa's girls! Alex is preceded in death by his Father, Abel M. Lucio. His first wife, Amanda Lucio, and his youngest brother, Chris Lucio. Alex is lovingly survived by his wife, Jennifer Lucio. His daughters, Monica Lucio-Correa (Shaun), Elizabeth Lawrence (John). His son Elias Lucio Jr. (Jennifer), Step-son Kyle Evans and Step-daughter Amanda Garcia. His granddaughters, Amanda Lawrence, Alexa Lawrence, Isabella Fishburn and Taylor Lucio, and grandson Aidan Garcia. His mother Artemisa Lucio, Stepmother Rosemary Lucio, siblings Abel Lucio Jr (Denise), Eunice Delgado (Vincent), Clementina Cazas (Gonzalo), and Louie Lucio. He will be missed deeply and remembered lovingly as a wonderful Husband, Father, Papa, Friend and Jokester. Heaven is brighter today with his smile. A Graveside services will be held 12pm, Friday September 24, 2021 at the Visalia Cemetery 1300 W. Goshen Ave. Visalia, which all of Alex's friends and family are welcome to attend. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow immediately at the Visalia Convention Center, Charter Oak Room.
