Dolores Mary Luna

On May 25, 2023, Dolores (Lola) Luna, our beloved Mother, grandmother and friend, escaped the sorrow and pain of this life and entered the shimmering gates of a land where there is no death, sorrow or pain, there to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus and to be united with the love of her life Joe Luna, who went ahead of her on December 15, 2020, to go and find a little corner (rinconcito) in heaven, where they will now be together for eternity in the presence of God. Dolores Luna, who was 81 years of age, was born Thursday, October 2, 1941, to Ignacio Longoria and Tomasa De Leon, in Austin, Texas. Early in her life, changing family circumstances resulted in Lola adopting the last name of her step-father becoming known as Dolores Mary Rodriguez. True to her name, Dolores, ("sorrows" in Spanish,) was well accustomed to heartache, pain and grief. The more one learns about Lola's amazing life, the more one is amazed at her wonderful spirit and uplifting attitude. Lola had an unquenchable zest for life. She loved time with her family and friends especially when the sound of festive music was near. We will never forget how she loved to dance and how, when she and Joe danced together, it was like watching one person move in time with the music instead of two. Lola was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her daughter Mary Helen Chagoya, Siblings: Vincenta Barron, Johnny Rodriguez, Cruz Arellano, Rosa Arellano, Espirios Arellano, and Lina Castro. She is survived by her loving Daughters Theresa O'Daniels, Anita Paul, Lucy Angulo and Virginia Maciel, Sisters: Lupe Torres and Aurora Rodriguez, sons-in-law; Dennis O'Daniels, Steven Paul, Jorge Angulo and Alfred Maciel. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. We will all miss her dearly until we are together again in the land where there is no more dying, sickness or pain where we will all sing with the angels and dance on streets of gold. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday June 17, 2023 at 10:00am Orange Cover Christian Center 490 Park Blvd Orange Cove Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
