Dolores M. Castro, of Visalia, CA, passed away on April 12, 2026. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, known for her compassionate heart, strong faith, and deep compassion for others. Dolores was a successful realtor who later followed a new path as a substitute teacher for grades K-12. She had a heart for students of all ages and brought patience, care, and understanding into every classroom she entered. She had a deep passion for history. She was a true history enthusiast who enjoyed learning and sharing stories from the past, especially generational stories that connected family and heritage. Dolores expressed her love through cooking. She found joy in preparing meals for others, always making people feel seen and cared for through the effort and heart she put into every dish. Dolores Castro had a special place in her heart for those experiencing homelessness. Having faced hardships and challenges of her own, she carried a deep understanding and empathy for others. Her resilience and love for God were evident in the way she lived and loved. She lived her life with generosity, always finding ways to give, even when she had little. She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her goofy spirit, and the pride she had for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Andrew, Caitlin, and Emmanuel Cortez, along with their spouses, Kaylee and Madeline Cortez; her granddaughter, Immaculee Hernandez; her siblings, Albert, Alex, and Alan Castro; and nieces and nephews, Korina, Albert Jr, Alexis, and Bria Castro. Though deeply missed, Dolores' life serves as a quiet reminder of the impact of her compassion, resilience, unwavering faith, and love, so often expressed through the meals she so thoughtfully prepared for others. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Tuesday, May 5th, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Rosary will be held 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 5th, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, Visalia. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 6th, 2026 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church Street, Visalia. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Thursday, May 7th, 2026 at Exeter District Cemetery, 719 E. Marinette Ave., Exeter.
