Diana Carlene Van Houten

Diana Carlene Hobbs Van Houten passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on September 10, 1942, to Carl and Vera Hobbs, Diana was a proud native of Arkansas and held deep pride in her family heritage. She graduated from high school in 1960 and married Larry Shipman the following year. Together they had three children: Craig Shipman, Scott Shipman and Kelli Shipman Aguiar. Diana devoted the early part of her life to being a homemaker and raising her children. In the mid-1970s, she became an enthusiastic Tupperware representative, and later, she proudly worked her way into a management role at Olan Mills, where she remained for several years. More than anything, Diana adored her family - her children, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She also shared a close bond with her beloved sisters and niece Ruth Rossiter, Brenda Altermatt and Elaine Ezell. Diana was a woman of deep faith and was very active within her church family. She enjoyed shopping and lunches with her forever friends, watching live theater, the L.A. Dodgers, NASCAR, and her Dallas Cowboys! Diana deeply missed her loyal dog Bailey, who was the best companion. Diana's life was filled with many challenges and disappointments. Her undying love for her lord Jesus Christ and Savior carried her when she couldn't carry herself! She will be remembered for her strength, determination, FAITH, humor, and her unconditional dedication to her loved ones. Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Vera Hobbs, her son Craig Shipman, her sister, Ruth Rossiter, and her dog Bailey. Diana is survived by her sister, Brenda Altermatt (Roger) her son, Scott Shipman, her daughter, Kelli Shipman Aguiar (Rodney), her granddaughters, Brandi Brassfield (Michael), Candice Shipman, April Shipman, Ashley Shipman, Kori Shipman and Faith Aguiar and all her grandsons, Christopher Shipman, Shane Shipman (Jocelyn), Chase Aguiar ( Lacey), Blake Aguiar ( Heidi), and Austin Aguiar, 19 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and nephews Mike Rossiter, Jeff Altermatt ( Michelle), Mark Altermatt and her one and only niece Elaine Ezell (Dave). She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. "With tears of sorrow, we cry each day, in angels' arms you were carried away.
