David Hernandez, Jr

David Hernandez Jr., 73, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 16, 1952, to David Ochoa Hernandez and Antonia Gaitan, who taught him the values of strength, faith, and determination. David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, working as an aircraft mechanic. Through dedication and hard work, he rose to the rank of Tech Sergeant before retiring with honor. His years of service reflected his discipline, integrity, and pride in his work. After retiring from the military, David continued his career as a mechanic for another five years, performing contract work in other countries, including Honduras and Afghanistan, where he specialized in maintaining Blackhawk helicopters. David had a deep love of travel and an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed exploring new places and especially loved discovering different types of food. Known for his exotic palate, he would try anything at least once, always curious and open to the world's flavors and cultures. He also had a great sense of humor and a quick wit that could fill any room with laughter. David shared many years of marriage with Judy Ann Hernandez, with whom he raised four children: Lisa Marie Cortez, David Richard Hernandez, Monica Lynn Lopez (spouse Juan), and Mark Anthony Hernandez (spouse Elsa). He later married Fiorella Vendrame, and together they had three children: Belinda Mariagrazia Hernandez, Angela Alicia Hernandez, and Andre Felipe Hernandez. David was the beloved brother of Charlie Hernandez, Cora Garcia (spouse Robert), Martha Magnia (spouse Albert), Lupe Araujo (spouse Tony), and Michael Hernandez (spouse Maria). He was immensely proud of his family and was blessed with seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, each of whom brought him immeasurable happiness and pride. A man of Catholic faith, David believed in God's grace and eternal life. His journey on Earth has ended, but his soul now rests peacefully in the presence of the Lord. Those who knew him will remember his adventurous heart, his laughter, and his strength. Visitation will be held 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday, October 16th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, October 17th, 2025 at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 10355 Hanford Armona Rd, Hanford. Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM Friday, October 17th, 2025 at Calvary Cemetery, 11680 S. 10th Ave., Hanford. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
