Cheryl Simonelli

Cheryl Lynn Simonelli, age 78, peacefully passed away on August 8, 2026, in Visalia, California. She was born on July 8, 1948, in Oakland, California, devoted daughter to Edward and Elinore Redding. After graduating from Redwood High School in Larkspur, California, Cheryl married the love of her life, Carmen Simonelli, on March 29, 1969. Together, they lived in Boston, Massachusetts, for 16 years before moving their family to Visalia, in 1985. Cheryl dedicated 26 years as a skilled and reliable bookkeeper for Quad Knopf before retiring. Cheryl was a generous and loving woman who found happiness in the simple things-quietly reading a good book, enjoying the comfort of home, and, most of all, being surrounded by her family. She especially cherished her grandchildren and the time she spent with them. Cheryl was also an amazing hostess. She had a special gift for making everyone who entered her home feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. Whether welcoming family, friends, or visitors, she took genuine joy in sharing her home and creating a warm and inviting place where people could gather, enjoy one another's company, and feel at home. Cheryl was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Carmen, and by her adoring mother, Elinore, who passed away just days before her. She is survived by her three children, Joy Simonelli Vega (Jose), Dawn Simonelli, and Guy Simonelli (Candace); and her four wonderful grandchildren, Janae, Skylar, J.J., and Flynn. Cheryl will be remembered for her quiet strength, generous heart, gentle spirit, gracious hospitality, and, above all, the deep and unwavering love she had for her family. She will be dearly missed and forever held in the hearts of those she leaves behind. A joint celebration of life honoring both Cheryl and Elinore will be held on August 18, 2026, at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel in Visalia, California. The Rosary will begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Homily of Prayers. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
