Brent Mitchell Ward

Brent Mitchell Ward was born December 28, 1990 in Visalia, California to Lisa-Pool Ward and Troy Ward. He peacefully passed away in Lindsay, California in the morning of January 18, 2025. He lived his early life in Visalia and moved to Ventura with his family for several years, returning to Visalia as a teen, attending El Diamante High School. In his youth his parents got Brent and his older brother, Brandon, involved in wrestling, mentored by their coach, Joe Carmody. They participated in tournaments throughout the state. When the family moved to Iowa, Brent continued wrestling and was a member of the prestigious Iowa City Hawkeyes kids wrestling club and had 19 first place championships throughout the United States and took second in Nationals kids wrestling. To say Brent excelled in the sport is an understatement! On June 15, 2008, Brent suffered a traumatic head injury that left him in a coma, fighting for his life. Despite the doctors' poor prognosis, Brent fought and defied the odds awaking from the coma several months later. The doctors had very little hope that he would ever speak, eat, or breathe on his own, but he fought to regain his function to walk and talk. Although he suffered some permanent physical injury, he healed beyond doctors' expectations, thanks to the devotion of his family. Brent continued to enjoy life and family, and especially root for his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He continued to suffer seizures over the years that eventually incapacitated him and took his life. Brent is preceded in death by his grandfather, Dale Pool, his grandmother, Carolyn Rudolph. He is survived by his father, Troy Ward, his mother, Lisa-Pool Ward, his older brother, Brandon Ward, and his younger sister, Brooke Ward, nieces Bailey, Braylynn, Breanne, and nephew, Bradley. He is also survived by his grandparents, John and Pat Ceponis, step-grandfather, Vance Rudolph, and step-grandmother, Peggy Moore. Brent's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at The 5th Quarter in Visalia from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The address is 3360 S Fairway St. Visalia, CA 93277.
