Betty Sue Macedo

Our sweet Mom and Grandmother, Betty Macedo passed away on Sept. 17 2023. Betty was 85 years old. She was born in Arkansas and moved to Visalia with her family in 1950. She died of a broken heart from losing her beloved husband, Richard, in May just four months ago. They were married 69 years. She was a wonderful homemaker and worked in retail after raising their son and daughter. She loved working at Gottschalks department store in Visalia for 13 years. She enjoyed working with her co-workers and customers often asked for her by name to help them. She was always kind and helpful. She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Debra (Ben) Davenport of Visalia and son, Mike (Trina) Macedo of Ontario, Oregon. Grandchildren, Michael Macedo, Matthew (Lisa) Macedo, Mark (Ashley) Macedo, Timothy (Megan) Davenport, Nicholas (Melanie) Davenport and Lucas (Jessie) Davenport, step grandchildren, Sherad Coleman, Chelese Coleman. Great grandchildren, Dawson, Thomas, Joseph, Hannah and Kate Macedo, Eleanor Davenport, and step great grandchildren Quinnlly Coleman and Jace Jones and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by her dear sister, Shirley Shipman of Emmett, Idaho. Betty is proceeded in death by her loving husband Richard Macedo, parents, Haige and Clara Brown, her bothers, Bernard (Sonny) Brown, and Haige (Junior) Brown. Sadly, at the time of this writing, news that her youngest brother, Gary Brown passing a week following her, after his short battle with cancer. Betty and Richard had a very happy life together filled with friends and happy family times. They loved traveling in their younger years with their Motorhome group to many places near and far. Playing cards, games and doing things together was always part of their life. When Dad was off fishing, Mom spent her time making delicious meals, loving to cook like her mother, Clara. She talked with her sister Shirley daily, often getting recipes and sharing family news. She enjoyed reading romance and mysteries whenever possible, sometimes a book a day! She was a meticulous homemaker and loved a good hallmark movie on occasion. Betty was always happiest when we would all gather for holidays or a BBQ and would get busy making something yummy for us all. In life, they did everything together, and now even in passing, they are rejoined and together again. Probably playing a game or cards on a beautiful table in heaven. We will all miss you every day Papa and Grandma... Private service with family will be held. A Mother's Love A Mother's love is something that no one can explain, it is made of deep love and affection, devotion, and loving care, of sacrifice and pain, it is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may, for nothing can destroy it or take that love away. It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking, and it never fails or falters. Love from your Mother is always with you, in your heart, and mind with your beautiful memories. We are grateful for our Mother, our sweet loving Grandmother, our Sister, our Aunt Betty... We know we are all loved deeply because God gave us the very best he had! Our prayers are that you watch over her and Dad while they are in your care, May they feel our heartfelt love till we are all together again up there.
