Betty Lois Chism

Obituary Betty Lois Chism 12/09/1938 till 08/09/2019 Betty was born in Yeager, Oklahoma. She was the third child and only daughter of Samuel and Lois Lovelace. Betty attended schools in Oklahoma and Kern County, graduating in 1956 from Tehachapi High School. She attended West Hills College. Betty went on to work various jobs. One job she was most proud of was working as a keypunch operator with the scientists developing the Sidewinder Missile at Naval Air Weapons Air Station in China Lake, Ca. She worked for Tulare County Farm Bureau working with the first computer used in the county, as Office Manager at De Groot Dairy / DG Bar Ranch in Hanford, Ca., and as a Marketing Manager with Excel Communications. Betty Retired in 2007. Throughout the 1990's Betty organized numerous successful events in the South Valley raising funds for her favorite charity The Muscular Dystrophy Association. In 1960 Betty married James Chism. They resided in Riverdale and Coalinga, Ca. They had two children together. Betty was the devoted mother of James Robin Chism, of Visalia, Ca., and Juliet Beth Chism Hennesay and her husband Keith of Visalia, Ca., Betty was the grandmother of Erik Hennesay and his wife Chelsea of Visalia, Ca., and Dustyn J. Hennesay of Las Cruces, NM.; She also was the great-grandmother to the cutest and most adorable great- granddaughter ever to walk the earth, Maesyn Brianne Hennesay. Betty also has two brothers, C. James Lovelace and his wife Susan, of Deer Park, WA. and Samuel Lovelace of Southern California. Betty was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews. She was the beloved "Aunt Betty" to Matthew Chism, Cindy Chism Ackerson, Randy Lovelace, & Dean Lovelace. Also included are Lisa Mills and Michelle Brown who throughout the years provided healthcare and friendship to her and her family. Betty was also " MOM" to numerous extended family and friends. She always had open arms to generously help and support those in their time of need with a hot meal, a place to sleep, and a positive bit of her wisdom. Betty loved animals, particularly, her dogs Teensie and Hermie, and her cat Arnie. Betty will have a " Remembrance Celebration" on August 17, 2019 at 2pm in the Clubhouse, at Rancho Fiesta Mobile Home Park, 5505 W. Tulare Ave. Visalia, Ca. 93277 Please come with your heart filled with laughter and joy remembering a life lived well!
