Betty Jean Barton

Betty Jean Barton, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born Betty Jean Clark on January 16, 1951, in Visalia, California, to Harold and Nola Clark. Betty grew up in Visalia, where she enjoyed a happy childhood filled with family, friendships, and small-town memories. She attended Mt. Whitney High School, graduating with the Class of 1969. Not long after graduation, she met and married the love of her life, Jimmy Allen Barton, on September 11, 1969. Together, they shared a beautiful marriage that spanned 56 years, filled with laughter, devotion, and unwavering love. The bond they shared was an example to all who knew them, and Betty's heart never stopped missing Jimmy after his passing in 2023. Throughout her life, Betty was dedicated to her family. She took great joy and pride in being a homemaker while raising her two daughters, Tanya Jones (Jerry) and Shawna Warren (Bobby). Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where family gatherings were filled with home-cooked meals, laughter, and stories shared around the table. Once her girls were grown, Betty began working as a merchandiser for a magazine company, where she spent seven years and was known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and friendly smile. Betty loved the simple joys of life-morning tea on the porch, tending to her home, and spending time with her grandchildren, who were her greatest joy. She was patient, kind-hearted, and always ready to lend an ear or offer a comforting word. Her gentle spirit and nurturing presence touched everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy A. Barton, and her parents, Harold and Nola Clark. Betty is survived by her loving sister, Kathy Smith; her devoted daughters, Tanya Jones (Jerry) and Shawna Warren (Bobby); five adoring grandchildren, Katie Takanishi (Daniel), Courtney Jones, Austin Jones, Kylie Warren, and Eddie Warren; and three precious great-grandchildren, Micah Takanishi, Jonah Takanishi, and Lillian Takanishi. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will continue to cherish her memory. Betty will always be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her quiet strength, and her gentle nature. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and devotion that will continue to inspire those she loved most. Though she is deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with Jimmy, the love of her life, in eternal peace. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Monday, October 13th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM Tuesday, October 14th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 14th, 2025 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia.
