Aurora G. Rosillo

It is with great sadness that the family of Aurora "Lupe" Guadalupe Rosillo announces her passing on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at the age of 72. Aurora was born on December 12, 1947 in Harlingen, Texas to Mario G. Gutierrez and Juanita T. Gutierrez. She was the second oldest of 11 children. Throughout her childhood her family traveled all over the United States, including Oregon, California, Illinois, Idaho, and Texas. In 1974, she married her husband, Jose Luis Rosillo, and lived in Chicago, Illinois. Together they had two beautiful children, Maria Rosillo and J Rosillo. Throughout Aurora's life she was a farm laborer, teacher, social worker, homemaker, volunteer, and active church member. Besides helping others, one of her greatest passions was writing. In 2002, one of Aurora's poems was acknowledged by the International Society of Poets and published in the book, "The Best Poems & Poets of 2002", by the International Library of Poetry. Aurora always enjoyed the little things in life. Some of her favorite things were going out and singing karaoke, going on drives, trips to the casino with her older sister, and filling up her shoe closet. She was a compassionate soul who was always willing to lend a hand or an ear to whoever needed it. Although she grew older her young spirit and wit never left. Those who knew her would say she was understanding, forgiving, goofy, stubborn, but most of all she was one of a kind. As her family grew, Aurora's greatest joy was her grandchildren. Everyone knew her as "Nana" because she was a grandmother figure to all. Aurora had a hand in raising all of her grandchildren and showed each of them pure unconditional love. Everyone who knew her knew that her grandchildren were her life. Aurora will be greatly missed, but remembered by her two children Maria and J, by her daughter-in-law, Judie, and son-in law, Jeremy, by her grandchildren, Mychaella, Connor, Danny, Joey, Jaihmey, Jaidyne, MiKensey, and Jacquelyn, and also her brothers and sisters, Irma, Janie, Albert, Eddie, Joe, and Angie. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mario and Juanita, her son, Salvador, her daughter-in-law, Alana, and her brothers and sisters, Mario, Abel, Cookie, and Dolores. On April 3, 2020, at 12noon there will be a small graveside service at the Visalia Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date when national health conditions permit.
