Arthur Mark Avedian

Our wonderful father, Arthur Mark Avedian went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving family. Mark was known for his caring heart, desire to help others, generous nature and sense of humor. He took great pride in his family and helping the community. Mark was born on June 22, 1952 in Fresno to Mark and Lili Avedian. They lived on a farm in Easton down the street from Mark's grandparents and across the avenue from his aunt and uncle. He loved being the oldest of three children and being in charge of his brother Aaron and sister Marsha. Mark started elementary school at American Union in Easton. His parents built a home near Reedley and they moved there in 1959. While there, Mark and his siblings worked on the family farm after school and during the summers. He attended Riverview School in Reedley from 2nd-8th grade. In 1970 he graduated from Reedley High School where he played on the golf team with his brother. Mark attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and majored in Agri-Business. He also attended Reedley College where he met his future wife Joan Avedisian. Mark played on the golf team at both colleges. He married Joan Avedisian in June 1974 in Fresno and moved to Visalia in 1976. Together they had three children Cherilyn, Jamie and Marky. Mark, his parents, brother and sister started Tagus Ranch Packing. He was president of the family business and traveled all over the world selling dried fruit and nuts. After Tagus Ranch, he coached men's tennis (coaching his son Mark) women's tennis, volleyball, and basketball at College of the Sequoias for many years. He loved coaching and mentoring athletes. While coaching, he obtained his real estate and brokers license and opened Avedian Properties. He partnered with his son Marky in 2014 and together they created a successful independent and locally owned family business with over 50 agents. Mark was President of the Tulare County Association of Realtors and was awarded Tulare County Realtor of the Year. He was an active member and former master of the Sequoia Chapter of the Trex Armenian Fraternity. He was a very proud father of three children and grandfather of eight grandchildren. Mark was very thankful to meet and hold his youngest grandson, three month old Ethan Avedian. He loved to attend his grandchildren's sporting events and give them rides on his golf cart. He enjoyed watching professional golf with his children and grandchildren. He loved the San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors and made fun of anyone who liked their opposing teams (especially his Dodger fan son-in-law). Mark was preceded in death by his parents Mark and Lili Avedian. He is survived by his daughter Cheri Veysey and husband Tyler. Daughter Jamie Onstott and husband Travis. Son Mark and wife Carly. Eight grandchildren: Wyatt and Catelyn Veysey, Owen, Lucas and Mason Onstott, Jade, Olivia and Ethan Avedian. Brother Aaron Avedian, wife Norma and nephew Nathan. Sister Marsha Marchand and husband Brad. Visitation will be held at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel at 127 E. Caldwell Ave in Visalia on Sunday September 4th, from 4-6 pm. The funeral service will be at 9 am on Tuesday, September 6th at St. Mary's Armenian Apostolic Church at 14395 Ave 384 in Yettem followed by a burial at Visalia Cemetery. Donations can be made to St. Mary's Armenian Apostolic Church in Yettem. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
