We have lost a shining star and a great spirit with the passing of Tony Garcia on March 31, 2018. Simon and Socorro Garcia welcomed Tony into the world on November 8, 1956 - the fourth of seven children. Tony was active throughout his lifetime, starting as a young boy. He did not let life's restrictions slow him down. He grew up working with his family in the fields or in his dad's gardening business. In high school, Tony played tennis, football, wrestled, was involved in band and danced in a Mexican dance group. After high school, Tony joined the Air Force at age 17 at the end of the Vietnam War. While in the Air Force he had the privilege of traveling to San Antonio, Montana, and Germany. After his 4 years of service to our country, he returned home to Tulare, CA to start working as an installer of waterbeds. Shortly after Tony was introduced to the world of bartending where he would continue his career. Tony was known for his love for bartending, being the life of the party and his love of people! He would venture into the HVAC business, start his own landscaping business and still continue to bartend when he could. Towards the end of his working career, he was working both for Perfect Care Landscape and the Marriot Hotel in Visalia, CA as a bartender. Tony was passionate about photography, music and his family. Anyone who knows Tony could attest that his two kids, Rikki Latta and Nikolaus Garcia, were the center of his world! He was able to coach his kids in soccer as they grew up. With his kids, he is survived by mother, Socorro Garcia; siblings and spouses; Arthur and Diane Garcia, Norma and Homer DeLeon, Albert Garcia, Sylvia Garcia, and Leticia Ambriz. Not to mention his many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends! Tony has now joined in Heaven, his father Simon Garcia and older brother, Simon Garcia Jr. May they all party hardy, forever and together! The Rosary will be prayed 10:00 AM Monday, April 9th, 2018 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 125 E. Pleasant Avenue, Tulare, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Services will continue on for Inurnment, to Tulare Cemetery, 900 E Kern Ave, Tulare. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
