Anthony Leroy DeMello

Anthony "Tony" Leroy DeMello, a lifelong resident of Visalia, passed away peacefully at the age of 87. Born on July 24, 1938, in Visalia, Tony left an undying impression on everyone who crossed his path. His boundless spirit, generosity, and joy for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Tony had a big heart, and is best remembered for his commitment to his community. He was a proud and active member of several local organizations, including the Kiwanis Club, Babe Ruth League, the Vapor Trailers Car Club, and the Visalia Salesman's Club. One of his greatest joys was showing off his beloved roadster at local shows and participating in community events.Whether he was found working hard behind a grill for a charity event, delivering food to Sister Ursula's Kitchen, or bringing magic to children by dressing up as Santa Claus during the holidays, Tony loved to give back. Tony was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Brown. He is survived by a large and loving family, including his ex-wife, Marilyn DeMello; daughters, Toni Liza DeMello and Judi DeMello; son, Mike DeMello; stepdaughter, Debbie Conway; stepsons, Chad Brown and Clay Brown; grandchildren, Tyler Saenz, Joe DeLuca, Devon DeMello, Ashley DeMello, Brittani Herndon, Kyle Brown, Breonna Brown, and Katelyn Orona; and three great-grandchildren, Little Anthony, Mason, and Mariela; as well as many cherished cousins and a vast circle of deeply loved friends. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to his community of friends, and a special note of gratitude to the staff at Linwood Meadows for the exceptional attention, love, and care Tony was provided during his final year. A celebration of his life will be held on June 24th at 10 a.m. at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel in Visalia, CA. Remembrances and donations can be made in his name to the Bethlehem Center (previously known as Sister Ursula's Kitchen), a soup kitchen and community support center located at 1638 N.
