Al "Ahlayashi" Martinez was born Sept 18th,1970 in Castro Valley. He was born to Adolfo Martinez and Maria Velasquez as the youngest of 4 siblings. Ahlayashi returned home to our Heavenly Father as of February 16th 2025. Ahlayashi was 54 years young with a fervent spirit and burning desire to serve our Lord in righteousness and in love. Al, to anybody that knew him, had a way with words for better or for worse. He knew exactly what to say, how to say it, and more importantly when to say it. Al's passions shifted throughout his life, but his love for music never faded. Anything he did, he did with a soundtrack. From Al Green to Brenton Wood, from The Jackson 5 to The O'Jays, from Geto Boys to Mac Dre. The range of music he cared for, preserved, and passed on to his children help us in shaping the memories we share of him today, tomorrow, and forever. Al frequently combined this catalogue of music with his passion for cooking. He always had a new recipe to showcase or a new spin on old recipes to keep things fresh. His greatest passions were also often things he was gifted at naturally such as his aptitude and hunger for knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Everything he did, though, he did for his family. Ahlayashi still carried these passions with him throughout the years, only finding a greater purpose for which he could live. In 2016, Ahlayashi began a new journey. A journey of truth, love, and devotion to the Lord. Ahlayashi was successful in this journey, gathering wisdom, comfort, and brotherhood with those that stood with him. His voice could ignite fires in the spirits of his people, bringing their true purpose to light. In flesh, Ahlayashi was an evangelist of the Lord. Speaking the truth, wisdom, love, and blessings of his people. In spirit, Ahlayashi was a beacon to his people, tasked with waking them from the slumber of their own spirit to know the Lord God and fulfill His purpose. Al "Ahlayashi" Martinez is preceded in death by his mother Maria Velasquez as well as his brothers Richard Martinez and JoeRay Martinez. He is survived by his wife Valerie Martinez, his sons Al Martinez III, Joseph Martinez, Carlos Martinez, and RJ Lopez alongside their sister Ida Lopez. His father Adolfo Martinez Sr., and his sister Angie Martinez. His 7 grandchildren; Jenal Martinez, Nathan Lopez, Ezekiel Lopez, Noah Lopez, Eden Martinez, Emma Montoya, and Evelyn Montoya who all held a very important place in Al's heart and mind; the generation he so carefully loved and sought to bring to God. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 21st, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 21st, 2025 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
