Jessie Florez Avilez

It is with great sadness and heaviest of hearts we announce the passing of our Beloved Jessie Avilez . She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her dearly. She was born in 1944 to her parents Tomas and Mary Louisa Avilez, passing on May 6, 2023 at the age of 78. She was a Woodlake, Ca resident and very much respected by those who knew her. Jessie was a hard worker her whole life starting off as a field worker picking fruit and working as a foreman at times. She graduated Golden State Business College where they quickly hired her as an accountant/bookkeeper and retired from Milan Institute formally known as Golden State Business College. She was known for being a peaceful, selfless, kind person and demonstrated it daily She was the calm in every storm. She enjoyed helping those that were in need during her lifetime. She loved hanging out with family, watching movies, taking trips to the casino, cruising, watching her grandsons grow and great grandsons play and have fun. We were her happy place. She always carried a smile and a good spirit wherever she went. She was by all means the definition of love in the bible (1 Corinthians 13: 4-7) She was Love. Her memory lives on and is survived by her daughter Veronica Martinez (Arthur Martinez), her grandsons Ricky James and Vincent Rey, great grandsons Isaiah James and Ricky James Jr, sisters Victoria Avilez, Gloria Rodriguez (Eusebio Rodriguez), Helen Avilez and Sylvia Avilez and many loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Tomas and Mary Louisa Avilez, sister Mary Rachel Rodriguez, and brothers Tomas, Louie and Joe Avilez. We rejoice knowing that she is in heaven with all her loved ones who have passed on. Vigil will be held 5:30 PM Thursday, May 25th, 2023 at St. Frances Cabrini, 199 N. Pepper St, Woodlake. Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, May 26th, 2023 at St. Frances Cabrini. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 26th, 2023 at Woodlake Public Cemetery, 165 N Cypress St, Woodlake. And a celebration of life at the Woodlake Community Center N Magnolia St, Woodlake, Ca 93286 from 12pm-4pm. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
