Florinda Del Rosario Santonil

Florinda (Phoyee) Del Rosario Santonil was a caring wife, mother, sister, and friend. She left the world suddenly on January 27, 2025 at the age of 65. She was born to Benedicto and Clarita Del Rosario on July 16, 1959. She is the youngest of 4 sisters. After many years of courtship, she married her elementary school sweetheart, Nathan. She then was brought over to the US from the Philippines by her husband who was serving in the Navy at the time. It was in California where they would settle down and start their family. They had 2 children, Jaimee and Cris (Kayla). Florinda started off working for an insurance company where she stayed for many years. She decided later on to stay home full time shortly after her daughter was born. It was through motherhood where she ultimately found true happiness and fulfillment. Once her children finished school, she decided to work in retail as a way to get back into the workforce. It was there, where her hard work and personality shined once again. She was touted as being the best saleswoman in her store, far exceeding others. Later on in her life, she found joy once again, not as a mother, but this time as a grandmother (or "Oma" as she liked to be called). It was as if no time had passed from when she was starting off as a mother and when her granddaughters, Kenzie and Kaia, arrived. She was ready at a moment's notice to care for her granddaughters. Motherhood came naturally to her. Nothing made her more happy than spending time with them or even talking on the phone with them. The unfathomable amount of love she had for her granddaughters is something that will leave a lasting impression on them and something that they will never forget. After her husband had retired, they were able to do some much needed traveling. Among other places, this included going back to the Philippines, where 2 of her sisters reside as well as their close family and friends. Unfortunately, travels were cut short due to the circumstances, but regardless, they were able to make loving and lasting memories with each other. Anyone who knew Florinda, would have nothing but kind words to say about her. The memories we have with her will forever be treasured in all our hearts. Although Florinda is no longer with us physically, her spirit is carried on throughout her friends, family, husband, children, and granddaughters. We will all miss her tremendously, but we take solace in the fact that she is finally at peace, looking down on each of us, and smiling like always. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Saturday, February 8th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Rosary will follow from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Viewing will be held 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Sunday, February 9th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. Homily of Prayers services will follow from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Sunday, February 9th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
