Edwin Otto Falkenberg

VISALIA � Edwin O. Falkenberg age 90, passed peacefully while in the arms of his loving daughter Carol. Born in Wisconsin to Hellen and Emil Falkenberg he began his love of fishing at the ripe age of 5 walking alone to the creek that passed through the family farm. In his 20's he moved to Buchanan, Michigan and began his career in engineering with the Electro-Voice company. It is there that he met his beautiful wife Beverly (Spousie). It was in Michigan two daughters were born, Marsha and Carol. In 1971 the family started a new adventure moving to Visalia, CA. Edwin said that Visalia and the Sierra's were "God's gift to Mankind." Where else in the world he wrote, could you cool down in the Sierra's during the hot summer months, and experience the warmth of the coast during cold foggy days, within just a couple of hours of here. He kept his love of fishing for a lifetime by teaching all his grandchildren, Megan, Lindsay, Miles, Raymond, the patience of fishing which was always included in the many joyful family camping trips. After retirement, Edwin and Spousie traveled the country in their motor home and the world by cruise ship. The family is blessed with his slide show presentations from so many adventures. Dad/Grandpa will always be remembered for his love of beer, Green Bay Packers, of course, and letting the grandkids decorate him with bows and ribbons. On January 22, 2018 Edwin passed away to heaven to be with his precious Spousie and sweet daughter Marsha. Edwin is survived by his daughter Carol Sebesta, her husband Jim, son-in-law Tony Saucedo, grandchildren Megan Leak and her husband Greg, Lindsay Saucedo, Miles Sebesta, Raymond Saucedo and newest family member, great granddaughter Adaline Beverly Leak. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Westgate Gardens for their endless care of Edwin and family support. They have been a true blessing. We thank the Christ Lutheran Church, Pastor Brian Mallison, Kaweah Delta Hospice, and others, for visiting Dad, caring for Dad with their prayers. The family hopes that everyone will learn from this very intelligent, wonderful Dad and Grandpa. His main lessons: "Life is an Adventure" and "Be Calm and Adjust." A celebration of Edwin's life will be held as a graveside service on Monday, January 29th @ 1:00 p.m. Visalia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Visalia CA - Celebration of Life Ministry.
