Bernice Marian Visser

Bernice Marian Visser, wife to one, sister of three, mom of four, grandma to sixteen, great-grandma to twenty-two, friend to many and servant to one. Bernice Marian Aberson was born on January 27th, 1933 to Reverend Henry John and Evva Aberson in Fairview, South Dakota. She was the eldest of three sisters, Lois and Janice. She spent her childhood in South Dakota and Iowa before her father was called to Zion Reformed Church in Artesia, California. Upon moving to California, she met Henry Visser and they were married on December 4th, 1952 and had four children: Jerrold Jay, John Lyle, Loanne Joy and Evonne Patricia. A child of God and God-fearing woman who was active in her community. The daughter of a Pastor, her faith in our heavenly Father never wavered. She raised her four children to be loving servants to the Lord who raised strong Christian families themselves. A formidable woman behind a self-made dairy business, some would say the brains behind the operation as the partner in every way to her husband. What started as a date on a motorcycle, blossomed to 63 beautiful years of marriage and set an example for her family. Together they had moved their dairy business from Artesia to Chino, California and later retired to Visalia, California to be closer to their family. Her family was her pride and joy. With all the blessings the Lord had bestowed upon her, she gave back in many ways. From leading the mother's club at Ontario Christian where her children attended school, and the Church Guild - a prime example of a servant's heart within her community. A care-giver to all, the mom, grandma and great-grandma who never forgot a birthday or failed to send a thoughtful card. She was consistent in many ways - cookies were always in the cookie jar with plenty more to go around for the regularly scheduled shoebox cookie deliveries at college. Christmas cookies were always frosted, puzzles were always in progress and a game of Shanghai could always be had. She had many adventures, from traveling the world to Lake Havasu, Palm Springs and beach trips, she was always happiest when her family was together. The memories are endless, but her impact will be remembered by all and her love will always be cherished. A Graveside service will be held for immediate family only. Memorial contributions can be made to the Christian School of your choice.
